How to Bridge Tokens in the Giddy App

Updated over a week ago

Unlike a typical swap, which trades one token for another within the same blockchain network, a bridge moves tokens across blockchains. This means that you are transferring value from one network to another. Like swapping ETH on Ethereum for POL on Polygon.

Each blockchain (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, etc.) has its own network of tokens, validators, and rules. Bridging helps you move assets between these ecosystems, unlocking opportunities like lower fees or different yield options.

Because this process involves third-party bridging services, it can come with small additional fees. However, the Giddy app automatically optimizes your trade to get you the best rates.

1. Tap the Bridge Icon

From the main wallet screen, tap the Bridge icon to start a cross-chain transfer.

2. Choose Your Tokens & Amount

Select the token you want to bridge from and to, then enter how much you'd like to transfer.

3. Review & Confirm

Tap Continue to Summary, review the estimated network fees and trade details, then hit Confirm to execute the bridge.

πŸ• A Quick Note About Timing

Because bridging is more complex than a regular swap, your transaction may take a little longer to process. This is normal, and your tokens will appear in your wallet as soon as the bridging service completes the transfer.
